Intensive Community-Based Treatment

Intensive Community-based Treatment Services (ICTS) are available to children ages 4 -17 who have significant mental health challenges that cause them to be at risk of losing home or school placement. ICTS supports children in their home, school and community. The services include home-based therapy, supervision, crisis response and skills training in a variety of settings to improve the child’s ability to live successfully while maintaining the child safely in their home setting.

Mental health services and supports are individualized, comprehensive, coordinated, child-centered, family-driven and culturally competent. The planning and provision of intensive community-based treatment services must ensure that the child and family are served in the most natural setting possible and disruptions to the child's school and home life are minimized.

The goal of the service is to build on child and family strengths in providing services that are directed toward successful home, school, and community functioning. ICTS is flexible and responsive to the type, intensity, location, and duration of psychiatric and mental health services and supports that would benefit the child and family.

Kerr is proud to partner with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon as one of their selected Community Partner Organizations. Through the partnership, Regence is the largest private funder of Kerr’s Intensive Community-based Treatment Services. Regence believes strongly supporting their nonprofit partners where they need it most. Kerr’s largest program initiative during the last three years has been moving services out of ‘residential’ care and into the community. Funding from Regence has been a large part of Kerr’s success making this transition and expanding services.
